Our
Story
Cabbagetown Reduces was launched in late 2019 when a resident committed to reducing her own waste footprint learned of the Reduces movement and was immediately geeked! Having frequented many of the Cabbagetown’s restaurants and shops as a customer and armed with the knowledge that they all already allowed her to “BYO” she set about canvassing to ask them to join the movement, and voilà! The movement put down more roots in Cabbagetown.
Cabbagetown Reduces is a small but mighty group and welcomes new volunteers to join the team - please reach out! 2021 plans include community outreach to spread the word of the value of BYO.

Covid-19 update: Please remember to ask the businesses if they are currently accepting reusable containers. During these challenging times our local businesses are working hard and their BYO policies may have temporarily changed.
